What Is Gold Seasonality?

Seasonality examines how market behaviour changes through the calendar year. The Free page provides a simple comparison between one completed year and the current year to date.

Longer historical windows, probability statistics and confidence bands are reserved for GoldEngine Tier 2 and Tier 3.

How Is Gold Seasonality Calculated?

The Free comparison uses the latest fully completed calendar year as its baseline and compares it with the current year to date.

Both lines begin at 0% on their first valid trading close. Trading session 1 is compared with trading session 1, and the current-year line stops at the latest available close.

Monthly returns use the final valid close of each month relative to the final valid close of the preceding month. The current month is marked in progress and future months have no current-year value.

What Is the Best Month for Gold?

At trading session 132, 2026 was 30.43 percentage points behind the 2025 path. This is a year-on-year comparison, not a long-run seasonal forecast.

Limitations of Gold Seasonality

Seasonality is only one analytical input. Gold prices are also influenced by the US dollar, real yields, Federal Reserve policy, inflation, central-bank demand and geopolitical risk.

Historical averages can conceal large differences between years, market regimes and exceptional events. Seasonal patterns should not be treated as guarantees or standalone investment advice.
